OK, Sat, 7/22, 6:00 pm at Rampart Park, COS - start of the final segment of the March to Focus on the Family.
If you don't know what this is all about, check it out:
Integrity/Colorado was there. L-R: Cheak, Shelley and Bill.
Moo! Check out www.borndifferent.org
[This campaign was separate from Soulforce.]
Life is good!
Jeff Lutes, Executive Director of Soulforce.
Starting the walk out of the park.
Can you read it: "I'm a soldier. I'm your neighbor. And I'm gay."
A couple from Denver. Yep, this was not their first "action."
Oh, the lady on the left rode a bicycle across America (San Diego to St. Augustine) last year to celebrate her 70th b'day.
We really lucked out in having great weather for this final event of the week.
OK - surrounding Focus and having a brief, quiet vigil.
Though not all, many drivers honked and waved in support.
I don't know them, but they were having a good time.
Following the Focus vigil, folks gathered for an evening concert here in the street.
Cheak and Shelley get to meet Robynne and the poodle.
Robynne and her partner Dotti are on a year-long trip around America. Please check out their compelling story:
Cheak scores on a shirt from the Matthew Shepard Foundation.
Cool sunset over Blodgett Pk, my local favorite climb.
Yeah, not very sharp image. That's a large inflated screen on the left for videos.
I had helped set up chairs and the screen earlier in the afternoon.
Jeff Lutes having a surreal time on the stage. :)
Trust me - that's Haven and Jake, who led the Equality Ride, a Soulforce bus trip around the country last spring. I became acquainted with them when the bus stopped here for a day at the USAFA on 4/14 - a wonderful experience.
Matt's mom: Judy Shepard. Check it out:
Judy Shepard, followed by actor Chad Allen, going to present a family photo album of the Marchers to Focus.
Dr. Dobson has consistently refused to meet with Soulforce, either publically or privately. The spiritual violence he promotes against gays has got to stop!
