Metropolitan Community Church hosting their Sunday service at the start of PrideFest - the 19th such annual event in Colorado Springs.
Rev. Wes Mullins presiding.
Our first visitor: Tim Hewitt, whose dad Bob founded the original Integrity chapter in COS.
Out of town visitors - delighted to find Integrity here... I forget which of the younger two is a seminarian.
See - it's easy to volunteer to sit behind the table at our booth - just ask Rev. Frances Mutolo here.
Actually Frances was a HUGE help - spending the entire day with me and helping with both set-up and take-down. ...Such a blessing.
For the third year in a row our table was co-hosted with Church of the Good Shepherd, a welcoming & affirming Episcopal church in COS.
A friendly dude who wandered about the park.
We're in Acacia Park - in the heart of downtown COS.
This year the community is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Stonewall - when the gay community in NY City decided they would no longer quietly tolerate police harassment.
On right, notice Noah's Ark and Pals - a big draw for adults & kids of all ages.
Rev. Frances was able to arrange for Noah's visit.
This is the Integrity motto - quoting from Psalm 84:11.
We did catch a little downpour around noon - but not enough to dampen anyone's spirits!
And we provided free shelter to all. :)
Integrity/Denver visitors. .. The Denver chapter had its own booth at the two-day Denver PrideFest in late June.
Joined now by Rev. Barbara Dumke and Doug Derr from Good Shepherd.
Rev Barbara, Doug and Rev. Frances.
Visiting our friends at the PFLAG booth.
A visit from Catherine and little Carissa from St. Mike's.
Couples making or renewing commitments.
The day cannot be far off when ALL God's people will have the option of marriage.
It's only a matter of time. .. Thanks for your support. .. Love & NTW, Bill
