I was in Grand Junction, CO, anyway - so perfect timing to catch the annual Fall Harvest Festival.
I was also here for the same weekend in 2008 - as can be seen in another album in this gallery.
This was late in the day - many cars having already departed from their property.
The apple harvesting and pressing mostly over now, the great potluck is underway.
A few more apples being pressed into cider.
Tons of liquid gold, ambrosia or fresh apple cider - this after everyone took 1-2 jugs home.
At last - time for s'mores down by the creek. ..Joel with Cody.
Joel explaining yaw and roll and stuff.
The other guy is actually a rescue helicopter pilot.
Sunday morning breakfast. .. Cody is now 2.5 - and breezing through potty training.
Video-phone chat with grandma in Virginia.
Grinding wheat kernels.
The dough goes into some mixer thingee.
Walking the fence line with Sunny.
Ben Lomond Peak with major fresh snow - so I won't be climbing it tomorrow. :(
Plenty of hens but no current egg production - how does a fresh chicken dinner sound!
Crossing the creek - all part of the spread.
Note the dammed fish pond.
There are a lot of seriously large trout in there - and no license required!
Checking in on the pigmy goat pen.
There are actually four goats - but the other one was less interested.
All right - back in time to check on the oven.
