My morning recon of our route up Mt Cutler Trail.
Can you see the frozen waterfall?
Will Rogers "Shrine of the Sun" tower.
Looking down at Seven Falls - lower center.
From top of Cutler, looking west; N. Cheyenne Cyn with TH out of sight below.
From where we normally stop here, a trail continues over to the promontory point yonder.
OK - I'm going to be scanning from north to east to south to west - hang on.
Blodgett Pk in the far distance.
Can you tell where the power plant is?
Can you make out the Broadmoor Hotel?
Seven Falls back in sight. The pointy peak left of center is Mt Vigil, which has a fun rock scramble at the summit.
End of scan: snow-capped Sheep Mtn barely showing in the center rear.
Heading back down the trail now.
The lower 2/3s of the trail is north-facing and quite shaded - so snow persists.
A new bridge, replacing badly eroded section.
Dogs must be on leash - except on cool winter eves!
OK - recon says sorta slippery but doable for a gnarly crew!
Our gnarly crew on the scene - mostly the Henricks clan plus Tom and Kim Keating.
Warm cocoa + Baileys for the grownups!
Yep - it's the Seven Falls all right!
Interesting effect, but next time maybe I'll bring my tripod!
