What am I doing here, following this person with a jug up some steep, moon-lit snowy trail?
Oh, it's Elizabeth and the jug must have something good in it.
Must be Colorado Springs - taken without a tripod.
Are we there yet?
Telephoto down to the Springs. Are these all Christmas lights?
Yeah, right: Seven Falls (or at least 6.5).
If you stare long enough, the colors appear to change!
L-R: Elizabeth and Nancy. Everyone else just happened by.
Some of Elizabeth's kids.
I reckon this is all the Henricks Family:
L-R: Reice, Conor, Elizabeth, Taylor and dad Brett.
This guy looks like a lacrosse coach. Ya think so?
Some people were especially fond of Elizabeth's jug.
Some of the Joneses.
Amazing that so many strangers could run into each other here and become instant friends.
Taylor's shot here came out better!
Back for a great meal at the Henricks' home - but watch out for the killer chili!
I'm thinking all the kids and most of the adults made it safely back. :)
Next morning: this is what it looks like in daylight. Gee, I thought the sign had said "Detour to left." Guess I need new batteries in my headlamp.
Check out the sign ahead.
Aha, we weren't lost after all: it's an actual named trail!
Less scary at night!
About half-way up.
Clearly a south-facing slope.
OK - our highpoint from last night. See the Falls!
I suppose it's more impressive with colored lights.
From our highpoint, the trail continues in a couple of minutes to the Mt. Cutler summit. From summit looking back west to our trail here and the canyon with the cars.
The Will Rogers Memorial (and bells) half-way up Cheyenne Mtn.
Note the frozen waterfall.
