OK - we're back at the Blodgett Pk trailhead a week later - this time aiming to go all the way. Summit is out of sight here.
Pix commence from our prior highpoint half-way up: Lookout Rock.
Although there was mostly excellent snow cover, we didn't need or use snowshoes this time.
The trail was generally evident.
A local lab taking his master for a hike.
The lab also took our picture!
OK - close to the saddle below the summit.
A final steep section.
Almost there - just above treeline.
YES! On top at 9423'.
Looking west with frozen Rampart Reservoir on left.
The FIRST sibling to summit Blodgett - & starting from the Gulf Coast!
USAFA below us. Can you see the cadet Chapel?
Looking SE over COS.
Right - Pikes Peak over yonder.
Can you tell where the Black Forest is?
Shadow and light.
They need traffic signals here.
Coming down seems so much easier.
Back to Lookout Rock.
The car is there, but hard to point out.
