OK - this is day two of our real-world climbing - on the Whale Wall at Red Rock Cyn, COS. [I do not have pix of yesterday's climbing on the west rim of Castlewood Cyn.]
Instructor Paul led off this pitch and I cleaned it ... yes, the top-rope anchor passed muster!
Brittany heading skyward.
This anchor also works swell - SRENE!
Now if only I can get back down.
This is a couple of groups. ... A group was typically two instructors and five students. Expert Instructor Mike - orange helmet in the middle.
Dina instructing Instructor Paul in the waterknot.
Darin checking the guidebook - but he kept downgrading the ratings. :(
The gnarly tree-climbing group! :)
Brittany soaring.
I'm assuming my belayer is paying attention - even when he's chatting with the instructors. :)
Yeah - this should work.
OK - Paul setting up for our rapp.
Would you trust this guy?
I'm anchored while we make rapp arrangements.
Get outta our way!
Paul heading down.
Matt ready for more fun.
Instructors have the coolest racks - but mostly quickdraws in Red Rock Cyn.
Matt heading back down.
Sign language?
Darin made it back too!
Dina making the return trip.
About ready to head down & out.
Can you spot Garden of the Gods back there?
