These first six shots with Tristan were taken high atop Section 16 on 10/24/12 - over seven months after the Youth Group Hike.
Sitting on the same log before the now ice-free and dry waterfall.
Nine of us in four cars showed up by 8:30 Sat. at the Red Rock Cyn trailhead.
So leaving two vehicles here, we carpooled up higher to the Section 16 TH on 26th St.
Already too warm for jackets.
Good thing we didn't bring snowshoes!
Kids like to be in front. ... Info on Sec 16 here: http://actionmatrix.com/Trails/Section16/html/Section16.htm
Still managing to smile - at least for the camera.
L-R: Suzi, Chandler, Ian, Hunter, Randy, Tristan, Becky and Emily.
The sign we're standing in front of. .. We're at the blue square in bottom right, with the two arrows pointing to it.
Is she trying to take our picture - or trying to avoid us?
Terrific, we arrived at the frozen waterfall before the sun arrived and wiped it out!
The mean-looking dude on the left is Hunter's classmate, Chandler.
Heck, they're all mean-looking dudes!
I don't need no stinkin' ice axe and crampons!
View to north from above Red Rock Cyn area.
Trail junction - and just in time for Emily's homemade cookies.
Garden of the Gods in the distance.
A memorial bench - perfect for four.
The Rowes left us here to head out sooner. ... Has anyone seen them again??
Yep, this must be the Quarry Cut.
Notice the rock climber high to the rear!
There are lots of bolted routes in Red Rock Cyn.
No one had seen the pond so low.
Our first good look at Pikes Pk - so we knew we must be home.
The cars were gleefully reclaimed a little past noon - time to get home for chores or a long nap. Thanks for joining us. Love & NTW, Bill
